With great regret the Nek Chand Foundation announces the suspension of the international volunteer program at the Rock Garden, Chandigarh. The reasons are varied and complex but can be summarized by seven words: Nek Chand is no longer with us.

Volunteer groups have been visiting the Rock Garden from overseas for around fifteen years and provided valuable support for Nek Chand himself, as well as carrying out important work and raising the profile of the Rock Garden in India and abroad.

The Rock Garden is owned and managed by the city of Chandigarh and although authorities there have on several occasions this year said future NCF groups are welcome, it remains unclear where volunteers would stay, what they could do, and who would be their contact.
