A three-day programme to mark the second anniversary of Nek Chand’s death is to be held at the Rock Garden, Chandigarh from June 10th to 12th. Events include the official inauguration of the Doll Museum by Chandigarh U.T. Administrator, Shri.V.P. Singh Badnore on Monday 12th, as well as painting and craft exhibitions, and contests for school students. There will also be an International Seminar for invited guests and a discussion of Nek Chand’s legacy in relation to environmental issues featuring Ms Deepika Gandhi, Mr Rakesh Rastogi and Mr Harsh Lakhanpal. Nek Chand’s favourite music will be performed and religious ceremonies of various faiths will be held during the three day commemoration. It is gratifying that the memory of Nek Chand is being kept alive in Chandigarh, and the Nek Chand Foundation encourages everybody to take part in the celebrations, most of which are open to the general public.
